SDS100 is a good radio if you can find one available, the SDS radios are the only consumer scanners that are successful with simulcast Distortion secondary to LSM. Oct 31, 2021 · That's the weird thing, I unplugged the SDS100 and used the new cable instead of the one that came with the SDS100. I've never had the computer try to install a new driver in the many times I've disconnected the scanner and reconnected it, (except on the original install). Solder the red wires together and to pin 5, Black wires together and to pin 1, Green wires together and to pin 2. I soldered wires to the three pins on the USB plug first and then soldered the 3 different sets of wires to the leads. Solder the bare wires together. It also uses a battery pack instead of AA batteries. The newer SDS100/200 models are basically programmed and work the same way as the 436/536 models with a few extra features. The message says that my SDS100 is up to date. It has firmware 1.10.00 and sub version 1.02.01. The Sentinel update to 2.03 went fine and now has the new tuning steps for custom searches, but I don't have any need for them. If it makes any difference, I updated Sentenel first.SDS100. However, after a couple lengthy trips to Uniden Repair, I was given a factory refurbished unit as a replacement to my original. I believe it’s Uniden’s use of a radio case (for the SDS100) used in their marine line of portable radios that’s at issue here. The marine case is touted as being waterproof/resistant so Uniden kept the moisture resistant feature and advertised it as a plus for the SDS100.
